Hose

There are three types of hoses off the rear of this engine. The Nozzle and hose to the left is a 250 foot 2 1/2 inch hose for bigger fires. This is a bigger hose than is used for a normal 1 or 2 room house fire. These hoses are generally used for houses or buildings with a great deal of fire. This hose delivers 250 gallons per minute and takes a minimum of two firefighters to operate effectively. The yellow hose is 5 inch hose and is used as supply hose only. This hose attaches one end to the engine and the other end to a hydrant. The engine carries 1,050 feet of this hose. The third hose (not pictured) is a skid load with 150 feet of 1 3/4 inch connected to 450 feet of 2 1/2 inch. This hose is carried into a building on fire where the standard 1 3/4 inch hose can not reach.
